A Round of Golf

“Some people are so busy, they don’t have time for Golf even!” …says a famous golfing quote. How true!! The love of Golf would take you places, keep you healthy, retain your youth and nurture your passion for life. There’s but one life…. The Golfing one!

Live life in style

Somewhere amidst the flood of readymade drinks available on the super-market shelves and in the sea of packaged, ready-to-eat food in the refrigerator, we are losing the fine art of serving our guests hand-made drinks, snacks and food. Like, when was the last time you hosted a house-party and made some cocktails and mocktails for guests?

Taking the easy route of, “what will you have, some tea, coffee, or some soft drinks….” or just serving up some scotch Whiskey-on-the-rocks or maybe a chilled Beer-in-pint to friends is not good enough. I find great joy in coming up with a new cocktail or mocktail every time I entertain guests at home.

It’s a myth that most mixed drinks need some or the other exotic, hard-to-find ingredient. I make any number of mixed drinks that are yummy and fun to drink, and yet, very simple to make. Most of the ingredients are generally available in our kitchen, and some others can be found in the neighbourhood supermarket. Of course, living in a metropolitan city, does help!

There’s nothing like a leisurely Sunday afternoon or a lively evening with an exotic drink in hand, some mouthwatering finger-food to go with, while having a good time with friends and family. So, here I present some very nice, yummy and simple drinks you can shake-up next time some guests arrive, invited or unannounced!!

Golf

This is the game to cherish, game to relish, and game to perish! Perish, because Golf is a great leveler. The monumental failures in a round of golf humble you, the remarkable and occasional successes give you a temporary sense of euphoria that you know very well is transient and make you a great human being. You learn to take-it-in-stride…. The best of rounds is followed by the worst one, and vice-a-versa!

“No matter how bad you play today, it’s always possible to get worse”

“Give me some Golf Clubs, Fresh Air and a beautiful partner; and you can keep the clubs and the fresh air”

“Golf is a perfect antidote to the feelings of euphoria I occasionally get on my successes”

“If it goes right, it’s a slice. If it goes left, it’s a hook. If it goes straight, it’s a miracle”

“Golfers get confused with all the numbers. They shoot a six, write five and yell fore”
